A gentle stroll up the Nordkette

Cool in the morning and sunny during the day… Perfect!  Autumn is on its way, though it will be a while before the snow comes to stay.
For a change of scenery we went to Innsbruck to have a look at the Nordkette.  A gentle stroll, it was not!

Looking down to Innsbruck and up the Brenner Pass towards Italy
Klettersteig.

The Klettersteig between Langer Sattel and the top of the cable car at the Hafelekarhaus looked a little intimidating without klettersteig equipment so the easier option was to lose 300m in height, traverse across and then go back up.  It all adds up in the fitness training regime!

The way down (well, one of them).

It’s unusual, for us, to see the back side of Hochfügen. The biggest peak on the right is Gilfert, which is to the west side of Hochfügen ski area.  The biggest peak on the left is Kellerjoch, which is where the chapel is above Spieljoch.
A different view of Hochfügen.
