An autumn weekend in Zillertal

The weekend started in Hintertux.

The weather was lovely and the pistes were great, so long as you had edges on your skis!

It looks like the new 6er Lärmstange 2 chairlift is coming along – it should be finished soon.

Then we went to Hochfügen to see what’s happening there.  Waiting for snow, mostly. There were a few ski touring tracks from a week or so ago, but it was an hour’s walk to the skiable snow line today, so not worth carrying the skis up 😉  It was a contrast to the same day last year when I made my first turns in Hochfügen. However, I don’t think it’s time to worry yet, I don’t know that it is a sign of what is to come – last year the pistes were perfect on 1st November and after 2 weeks of warm weather most of the lovely base had gone.
Hopefully, it won’t be long before it snows.
Winter is coming!
